ER Instructor
In the TDI Extended Range Instructor Course, the instructor candidate will receive training in the proper techniques, equipment requirements and hazards of extended range diving to depths of up to 55 metres, while utilizing nitrox mixtures and oxygen for staged decompression.
Topics that candidates may be asked to present include:
- Setting up a kit for an ER dive
- Techniques and methods of decompression, decompression tables, decompression gases, decompression dives
- Lifting bag / DSMB deployment, stages manipulation, standard technical procedures in a complete ER diver's equipment
- Simulating a stressful situation
Extended Range Instructor Course Prerequisites:
- Minimum age 21
- Provide proof of 250 logged dives, 25 must be extended range dives
- Certification as a TDI Extended Range Diver or equivalent
- Certification as a TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures Instructor or equivalent
- Must have certified 10 students in Advanced Nitrox diver or Decompression Procedures diver, a minimum of 5 must be Decompression Procedures divers
Qualification of graduates
Upon successful completion of this course, the graduate can teach technical diving to depths of 55 meters using any Nitrox for decompression. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates can enroll in courses: TDI Trimix Instructor or TDI Advanced Trimix Instructor
