This Program is designed as the model for mixed gas instruction. The Program was developed by leading diving educators, diving physiologists and the most experienced mixed gas divers in the technical diving community.
Trimix Instructor represents the standard of excellence in Mixed Gas Applications for advanced technical diving.
Prerequisites
Certification Requirements: a. Must be qualified as an IANTD Normoxic Trimix Instructor in Active Teaching Status for a minimum of one (1) year. Age Requirements: a. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Dive Experience: Must have a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience. Must have taught a minimum of 12 IANTD course which may include recreational and technical courses. Equivalent programs with any qualification agency, may be counted. Must provide proof of a minimum of 500 logged dives, of which at least 200 were deeper than 30 m, and at least 50 were Trimix dives.
Program Content
A 4 day Program consisting of instructor procedures and watermanship evaluations. Must assist Trimix Diver Programs as described in the prerequisite - Dive experience bullet. This IDP is dedicated to directing the Instructor candidate to the methods and techniques of training IANTD Trimix Divers. The candidate must demonstrate good leadership potential during the IDP and give at least two (2) complete lectures in the Program. Non Trimix Supervisors must assist two (2) courses which one (1) is in conjunction with the IDP. Trimix Supervisors must assist in one (1) course, which can be in conjunction with the IDP
